If somebody asks me about a journey that I enjoyed the most, then I would say the journey with my friends through Uttarakhand, during the last winter. It's commonly known to everyone as the land of Gods (Devabhoomi) because of the presence of devotional tourist destinations like Gangothri, Yamunothri, Badrinath and Kedarnath. So many foreigners travels to this land every year especially on occasions like Kumph Mela.
When we got our leave sanctioned from the place we were working in Patna, we planned a trip to a new destination and luckily we selected Rishikesh and the places around .The journey was a different experience to all of us, as we had only heard about the different places in Uttarakhand and its land beauty. Up-to Delhi we travelled by train. Then we decided to travel in an ordinary bus meant for public transport so that we could able to experience all the available variety of traveling. On an average it is actually six hours journey from Delhi to Rishikesh but that day one of our trip buddy got abdominal upset that forced us to extricate ourselves from the bus while reaching a hotel in Haridwar.Thus after reliving himself in the washroom and when we all had some refreshing snacks,we continued our journey to another two hours to reach Rishikesh.
As we reached Rishikesh in the evening, we had taken rooms in Rishikesh and impatiently waited for the sunrise. We have arranged bullets from 'Bikes for Rental Shop' and started our journey. Two person in one bullet was our trip pattern. Bullets in the hills and valleys are amazing combination always. So we have started our journey to Mussorrie and Dhanaulti .Actually that time our ambition was to go to Kedarnath and Badrinath, but as there were restrictions to travel to these places we have chosen our way to Mussorrie and Dhanaulti. When we reached Mussorrie through moderately snow showered valleys, we found a marvellous land with a bunch of hills and snowy valleys. The crushing sound of snow pellets in the road when our bikes passes through it thrilled our journey and we felt like flying together with the clouds through the heights of the highland.
Mussorrie is the place very special for the writers, as it is not a wonder that the creativity will be at their heights when someone get assimilated with the land beauty of Mussorrie. There is a British library also there to encourage the readers and it was very famous during the time of British rule.Ruskin Bond the Great writer lives in Mussorrie just because of his affection to this place. Once visited its common to any body to be extremely difficult to come from this magnificent landscape of divine beauty.
After exploring Mussorrie, we went to Dhanaulti when the temperature there was a freezing minus eight degrees. During these adventurous rides in these sloppy and slippery roads of the high range, we could not realize the freezing hands or pacing hearts of our own just because our mind at that time will only desire for a never ending journey.
The land beauty of these places in Uttarakhand will make any passionate traveler to a state of ecstasy. After reading these all if your mind is compelling you so badly to have a travel to these special places in Uttarakhand, then it's time for you to realize that you are also one among the passionate travelers who want to explore.
