Why Kerala is So Famous...
Among the Indians , especially residents of northern parts of India, there will be a big quest and it's a common quest 'why Kerala is so famous ' .Basically, the name Kerala came from 'Kera' which means coconut, thus Kerala means the land of coconuts.
Without any doubt as a Keralite, what Kerala is special for and famous for. It is none other than 'SPICES '. During the pre historic period itself, ships from the west started their search for the land of spices, or to say more accurately 'The spice garden of the world '.The king of spices 'pepper' usually called as the BLACK GOLD by Europeans originated from this very special land of rare tropical climate.
There are other exotic herbs and spices in Kerala especially Cardamom- the queen of spices which had a very good affinity for the sliding landscapes of Kerala.
When spices are the first and foremost reason for the fame ,the very next reason for Kerala to be well known is its interest for its inhabitants to learn which is the factor that contributed to the highest literacy rate compared to any other states in India. There won't be any sector in the world were there is no contribution from the Keralite. And also there won't be any place in the world where there is no foot-marks of a Malayali commonly known to be 'Mallus'.
India is a country boasting to be a place there is 'UNITY IN DIVERSITY '. This can be felt really in Kerala where people with different religions sharing common residential area and together they are celebrating all festivals whether it is Onam,Christmas or Ramadan. Even every one is well and peaceful to dine in special occasions like marriage and social gatherings. This is the very reason Kerala is stated by foreigners as 'Gods own Country '. Every one irrespective of the religion respects all God and every rituals.
Kerala is again famous for the traditional Ayurveda treatment and also the ancient form of marshal arts called 'Kalari Payattu' and these two are very influential as it got world wide appreciation and demand. Kerala also owns wide variety of medicinal plants especially in Agasthya hills.The traditional Kerala art Kadhakali and the famous boat race are essential and inevitable to quote in a description of Kerala fame.At last but the least Kerala got famous in its unrevealed treasure of Padmanabha Swami temple which worth trillions in international market for its collection of rare diamonds and traditional jewels.
