The Spice garden

   All of us have a special affinity to spices just because it is deeply embedded on our lives as it is so closely attached to our genetic memory since ancient times.This was the only reason the Europeans and the Arabs have fought with each other in deep seas to acquire the monopoly to trade with India. Our exotic spices are inevitable ingredients in their cuisines from a prehistoric age. Even the Romans complained about their wives as they are extravagant in the use of spices for their queenly showers..

If any body is traveling through the hills of waynad in open air, they can even sense the aroma of the wind to be extremely different just because the breeze always carries the aroma of spices layered around  the hill.A slightly different aroma you can feel in a place which is number one in the production of spices than anywhere else in India and its Idukki. The land beauty there also resembles like a nymph wearing the sun as an orange diamond in her crown and the rivers around the  hills as a silver necklace.There will  be hardly any Poet or writer in Malayalam literature who dare to ignore the beauty of Idukki in their literature or poems....as the spirit of nature and its vibrant energy is capable to make any Poet in a state of ecstasy which resembles in their much appreciated works in their entire life.

    Thus it is time for all of us to recognize our traditional and inherent treasures and to preserve them to the maximum possible level. Even though Vietnam is producing globally 30 percent of pepper, the quality  of Indian pepper is the hallmark internationally. Every thing will change in life , technology and life style,  but the only thing which doesn't change for humans is our emotions .Picment studio is always embedded with emotions.
